Illinois State University alumnus Rajagopal Sankaranarayanan has been accepted into a doctoral program at Indiana University. The Department of Instructional Systems Technology at Indiana University awarded a Proffitt Fellowship to Sankaranarayanan from hundreds of applicants for his first year of study and a Faculty Doctoral Fellowship for the second through fourth years of study at Indiana University.

The Proffitt Fellowship and Faculty Doctoral Fellowship awards are very competitive and prestigious awards created to support doctoral students.

Sankaranarayanan earned his master’s degree in technology-training and development from Illinois State in May. On April 13, Sankaranarayanan was part of the first cohort to complete thecertificate of specialized instruction in the scholarship of teaching and learning at Illinois State. The certificate is made up of three workshops that are focused on teaching and learning and understanding teaching and learning research. Technology Professor Anu Gokhale was Sankaranarayanan’s mentor in the program.
