The Body Project is a program offered by Student Counseling Services.

Student Counseling Services will hold Body Project implementations throughout the semester. The first will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 18, in the Student Services Building. The event is free, however, those interested need to pre-register at the Body Project website.

The events will offer female university students an opportunity to engage in a healthy-body image program. It aims to encourage participants to love their bodies irrespective of the physical appearance. Through a variety of fun and engaging exercises, activities, and discussions, trained peer facilitators will prepare participants to embrace the healthy ideal, counter fat-talk in their daily lives, promote body activism, and embrace non-appearance related characteristics in themselves and others. The project involves two separate, two-hour sessions. Participants must attend both.
