Illinois State University School of Music will present a recital of works by Benjamin Britten, Antonin Dvorak, and Judith Weir at 8 p.m. Friday, September 1, in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall.

The recital will feature performances by Illinois State University Professors Justin Vickers, tenor, and Geoffrey Duce, piano. Illinois Wesleyan University Professor R. Kent Cook, piano, will join Vickers and Duce.

The event is part of the School of Music’s Charles W. Bolen Faculty Recital Series. It will include Benjamin Britten’s Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo, Op.22 (1940) and Four Burns Songs from A Birthday Hansel, Op.92 (1975), Antonin Dvorak’s Cikanske melodie, Op.55 (1880), and Judith Weir’s Scotch Minstrelsy (1982).

Tickets are $10 for adult general admission, $8 for faculty/staff, and $6 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased in advance and pre-concert at the CPA Box Office.
