The annual Kick-off Que will be hosted on Sunday, August 20, by Diversity Advocacy. The free outdoor BBQ will run from 4-6 p.m. on the Quad.
Kick-off Que aims to highlight student organizations that work with underrepresented groups. Held as part of the Welcome Week, the event will give students an opportunity to enjoy food, listen to music, and meet faculty and staff from a wide variety of departments across campus.
Students will get to learn about the various campus associations including historically African-American and multicultural Greek letter sororities and fraternities. Students will also learn about upcoming programs and services provided by Diversity Advocacy and the Dean of Students Office.
Participants must bring their valid Illinois State I.D. to attend the event. Faculty and staff are welcome. In case of inclement weather, the location will be relocated to the Brown Ballroom.
