This fall semester will offer many great trips where you can learn a new skill or soak up some fresh air. The Adventure program has a wide range of trips for any person to try.

The first trip on the lineup is Sunset Kayaking on September 1 to nearby Evergreen Lake in Hudson, Illinois. There is also a Labor Day Weekend Kayak Trip to Banner Marsh on September 2. Like to canoe? Join us on the Labor Day weekend Canoeing Trip to Clinton Lake. If you’d rather hit the trails, join us on a day Hike to Turkey Run on September 9.

Develop a new skill in our Stand- Up Paddle Boarding workshops on September 27 or October 11. After learning all the skills needed, join the Stand-Up Paddle Boarding Trip on October 15. If you enjoy climbing, there will be several Belay Workshops through the months of August-October. You can also learn climbing skills at the Introduction to Climbing Workshop on September 6. Looking to take your climb outside? Join us for the Gym to Crag workshop on September 22 and 29. Then we’ll take everything you’ve learned to climb at Pere Marquette State Park on October 6-7. We will wrap up the fall slate with training courses in First Aid/CPR/AED on October 11, an Adventure Training Course with a trip that last several days in October, and our Extended Outdoor Climbing Trip to Kentucky.

“There are many options for people of all different interests to find a trip that they enjoy,” said Assistant Director-Adventure Programs Rachel Iversen. “There are a wide variety of activities for everyone to find their next adventure.”
