Stand up for SUPs

SUP Trip

Hit the water on one of our stand-up paddleboards.

SUPs, or stand-up paddleboards, are a great sport for anyone who loves the water and trying something new. Campus Recreation’s Adventure program will host two workshops September 27 and October 11 from 8–9 p.m. Instruction will include standing, balancing, and maneuvering on a SUP.

Register by September 27 or October 11 at 5 p.m. to reserve your spot. Registration is not required, but since the workshop is first come, first served, registrants have priority. There is no cost or experience necessary to attend the workshop.

After you have learned the skills to be successful on a stand-up paddleboard, try out the Adventure program’s Stand-Up Paddleboarding Trip. This trip will take place at Dawson Lake and will give you the freedom to practice the skills you have learned in the workshops. The trip will take place October 15 from 1–5 p.m. Registration is $12 for students/members and $20 for faculty/staff nonmembers. The registration deadline is October 10.

“If you are nervous about trying stand-up paddleboarding, then this workshop is perfect for you,” said Rachel Iversen, assistant director of Adventure. “Discover something new with the Adventure program today.”
