International Education Week (IEW) celebrates the internationalization and diversity of Illinois State University by highlighting events, programs, and courses that enhance the globalization of our campus. International Education Week 2017 will be celebrated from October 23–27.

This year, IEW will focus on programming from the various colleges within ISU. Each college will present events and activities that promote internationalization efforts within their own classes and programs. These events range from seminars and workshops to RSO-related activities and poster fairs, all working towards the goal of educating ISU students and the local community to be more engaged and informed global citizens.

In addition to the activities planned by each of the colleges, the Office of International Studies and Programs (OISP) will present four additional special events: the Fall Study Abroad Fair, an Etiquette Dinner for International Students (cosponsored with the Career Center), “Meeting a Global Redbird at Watterson,” and visits by international students to local elementary schools.

The week’s events will be kicked off by a faculty/staff appreciation reception organized by OISP. Attached is a detailed schedule of the week’s activities. All students, faculty, and staff are warmly invited to attend these events!

The Office of International Studies and Programs hopes that all of these International Education Week events will serve as a catalyst for year-long programming within colleges and units towards the ultimate goal of campus-wide internationalization.
