ISU Pride will host a series of events throughout the month of October to celebrate Queertober.

Documentary screening
A screening of the documentary Gender Revolution will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, at the LGBT/Queer Studies and Services Institute. The National Geographic documentary with Katie Couric travels across the U.S. to talk with scientists, psychologists, activists, authors, and families about the complex issue of gender.

National Coming Out Day
The month’s events will kick off with National Coming Out Day. ISU Pride will be on Schroeder Plaza from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, to offer support, information, and affirmation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students.

Pride History Night
LGBTQ advocate Barb Dallinger will give a talk for Pride History Night at 7 p.m. October 11, at the LGBT/Queer Studies and Services Institute. Dallinger will speak about the local and national events that shaped the student organization, ISU Pride. Dallinger is the associate director for event logistics and life safety for the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University. She has been instrumental in communicating the challenges and need for support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) students and community members for decades.

Bonfire
Join Pride for their 19th annual Bonfire from 7-10 p.m. Friday, October 20.  There will be games, fun, fellowship, and s’mores. Contact ISU Pride for the location.

Ally Night
All those who support the LGBTQ+ community are welcome to attend Ally Night from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, at the LGBT/Queer Studies and Services Institute, located in the Professional Development Annex building at 205 S. Main St. The evening will be dedicated to discussing allyship to the communities.

Queertober Ball
The month’s activities will end with the annual Queertober Ball from 7-10 p.m. Friday, October 27, at the Old Main Room of the Bone Student Center. Costumes are encouraged in this evening of fun.
