On Tuesday, November 28, Illinois State University will participate in Giving Tuesday, the worldwide day dedicated to generosity and giving back. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends will come together to show their Redbird pride and support University scholarships, academic programs, WGLT, and the Laboratory Schools with their financial gifts.

During Giving Tuesday donors can go online to make a gift of any size. Gifts can be designated to support specific departments or programs, or they can be put toward scholarship funds that will benefit students attending Illinois State.

Friendly challenges have been issued by generous donors to encourage others to show their support for Illinois State on Giving Tuesday. If 500 gifts are received during the day, two anonymous donors will give $100,000. In addition, Stacey Houston and her family will split $30,000 between University High School and Thomas Metcalf School.

Updates on the fundraising campaign will be given throughout the day on Illinois State’s Giving Tuesday website and on its Facebook and Twitter accounts. Donors are encouraged to share their support for Illinois State by using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayISU.
