The Illinois State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music invite you to Music for the Holidays. There are three opportunities to experience this annual favorite: Saturday, December 2 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 3 at 3 p.m. All concerts will take place in the Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) Concert Hall. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors.

Over 350 performers from the ISU Symphony Orchestra, Men’s Glee, Women’s Choir, Belle Voix, Concert Choir, and Madrigal Singers ensembles will perform during the concerts.

This year’s Music for the Holidays will include orchestra favorites such as Sleigh Ride and Hanukkah Festival Overture and choir performances of O Little Town of Bethlehem and a selection from J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. The concerts will also feature the Madrigal Singers who will perform their popular arrangement of Angels We Have Heard On High, the moving, traditional Austrian carol Still, Still, Still, and a stunning new arrangement of O Magnum Mysterium.

To end the concert, the audience is invited to participate in a festive carol sing-a-long with the orchestra and combined choirs.

The 7 p.m. Saturday concert will be a special evening for alumni and includes pre-concert carols from the Chamber Singers. Music will be provided for any alumni who want to join in. A special alumni ticket discount of $10 for this concert only is available by contacting the ISU Center for the Performing Arts Box Office at (309) 438-2535.

Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected for the Midwest Food Bank in the CPA lobby, which will be decorated for the holidays.
