Lisa Hood, Ph.D., and Erika Hunt, Ph.D., analysts and researchers attended the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant meeting December 7 at the University of Miami in Florida. The SEED grant program provides funding to increase the number of highly effective educators by supporting the implementation of evidence-based preparation, development, or enhancement opportunities for educators.

Hood and Hunt are senior policy analysts and researchers at Illinois State University’s Center for the Study of Education Policy (CSEP), which received a three-year, $12.5 million SEED grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The funds will be used to increase principal effectiveness in performance areas that lead to increases in student achievement, particularly in high-need schools in a project titled Together Everyone Achieves More Through Integrated Leadership (TEAM Lead).
