Need a night of rock ‘n’ roll? The Illinois State Alumni Association is giving its alumni and friends just that.  Alumni and guests are invited to watch a performance of School of Rock: The Musical at Fox Theatre in St. Louis on January 25.

School of Rock: The Musical is a rendition of the 2003 Jack Black movie. The musical focuses on Dewey Finn, a rock star hopeful who didn’t quite make it. His next move is to work as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he takes his talent and turns his class into a full-blown rock band. Attendees will enjoy the movie’s original songs plus 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Following the performance, Redbirds will stay for a talk-back with select members of the cast and crew, several being ISU alumni, where they will get to ask questions and hear more about the workings behind the show.

When: 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 25
Where: Fox Theatre, 527 North Grand Boulevard, St. Louis

The cost is $45 per ticket. The group’s seats are located on the main floor orchestra, section 2. Register by 4:30 p.m. January 19 online or by calling Alumni Relations at (309) 438-2586.
