The Huff Post spotlighted POL alum Nikita Richards for her involvement in electoral politics. The story highlights the path of Richards and five other women who were inspired to get involved in local politics after the election of Donald Trump.
Richards is now running for Mclean County Clerk and is up against a history of Republicans holding the office for the past 40 years. The latest Republican incumbent has 2 terms in office. Huff Post first featured Richards for her attendance at a workshop last February meant to train Illinois Democratic women in running for local office. If elected, she would be the first African-American to hold the title of County Clerk.
