The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) Dissertation of the Year award recognizes an outstanding dissertation that has had a generative impact on present and future research. The recipient of this award is recognized as a champion of innovative solutions to problems of practice.

The following two alumni educators were recognized with the award in 2016 and 2017. The newest honoree will be announced at the EAF on the Red Carpet Spring Gala on Saturday, May 5, at the DoubleTree Hotel.

2016 award recipient Diane Wolf ’89, ’92, M.S. ’95, Ed.D. ’16, is the assistant regional superintendent of Regional Office of Education 17. Her dissertation is titled Assessment Lessons for the Burnt-out, Bewildered, or Beginning Teacher.

2017 award recipient Glenn Wood, Ph.D. ’16, is the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction at the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District. His dissertation is titled Illinois Stakeholders’ Perceptions of Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Courses.
