The following resource might be helpful to school districts and the community partners who work with them.

LEGISLATOR FORUM 2018 – School Improvement from the Ground Up   Wednesday, April 11, 2018  Cocktail Reception 6to 6:30 p.m., Dinner and Presentation 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dr. Nancy Zimpher, will deliver the keynote presentation on how she built upon university strengths to drive regional and local economic development and created seamless cradle-to-career education pipelines in several communities.  She will then moderate a discussion with members of the Rockford community including Reverend Copeland and Superintendent Ehren Jarrett.  In accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act, Illinois has created a new system for evaluating and supporting schools. This new system provides an opportunity for more local partners to collaborate with their district and schools to raise achievement for all students. Schools and districts working closely with local community partners can receive additional supports that are essential for improvement.
