Ewing Manor at Illinois State University will celebrate National Walking Day with the American Heart Association on Wednesday, April 4.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. and run throughout the day till dusk. Located at 48 Sunset Road in Bloomington, the beautiful pathways provide the perfect way to celebrate the day. The event is free and open to public.

Parking will be available across Emerson Street at St. John’s Lutheran Church. A delicious and healthy lunch can be purchased from Dinner Bell between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Learn more about National Walking Day.

Walking is the simplest, and yet, the most overlooked form of physical activity. Active people are at lesser risk of heart disease, stroke, and other blood vessel disease. Walking for at least 30 minutes a day can help one stay fit and improve one’s focus on school and work.
