Honors
Jomo Sankara, COB, received the National Association of Black Accountants advisor of the year award for 2017.

WZND Radio, COM, was named the 2018’s National Signature Station by the Broadcast Education Association. The first-place award acknowledges superior practices and protocols of student-run, faculty-advised facilitation of the station.

Presentations
Erin Mikulec, COE, presented “Teacher identity development in a year-long secondary teacher preparation program” at the Pacific Rim Conference on Education in Sapporo, Japan.

Cynthia Huff, ENG, delivered the keynote address, “Mind the Gaps: Victorian Women Writing Subversion into the Archive,” at the international conference “CONVENTION AND REVOLUTION. Life writing by women in the 1800s and 1900s: archives, critiques and methods” in Warsaw, Poland. Her work will also become part of the archives of the Women’s Archive: Writing project of the Humanities Division of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Performances
Kevin Hart, MUS, and the Vibe Tribe were featured at the Central Illinois Jazz Society’s concert at the Trailside Event Center in Peoria Heights. The Vibe Tribe also performed at Parkland College’s Gallery Lounge in Champaign.
