Percussion Ensemble at Illinois State University.

The ISU Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of David Collier and Ben Stiers, will present its spring concert, Sounds and Friends, at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 15, in the Center for the Performing Arts at Illinois State University.

The Percussion Ensemble will explore the interweaving of pitch and rhythm in Dopplegänger by composer Brian Mason, and Pieces of Eight by composer David Reeves. The concert will also feature a performance by the Normal Community West High School Percussion Ensemble and the Graduated Percussion Ensemble.

The NCWHS ensemble will perform Dr. Gradus ad Parnassum and Catching Shadows, and join the ISU Percussion Ensemble for “a whispering….”  Four recent graduates of the ISU Percussion Ensemble will perform David Skidmore’s Torched and Wrecked.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $6 for students and seniors, and can be purchased at the Center for the Performing Arts box office.
