Honors
Andrés Vidal-Gadea, BIO, won the McLean County STEM Professional award, recognizing his student mentoring and outreach activities. Only one award is given out in this category. Vidal-Gadea also had three posters at the gala that were presented by two undergraduate and two high school students. Also at the gala, doctoral student Margaret DeMaegd, BIO, won a McLean County STEM College award for her presented poster “You are going the wrong way! Naughty action potentials change how neurons encode.”

Redbirds swept the 2018 Run for Hope benefiting Home Sweet Home Ministries. Those placing in various categories included Alejandro Enriquez, LAN; Juliet Lynd, LAN; Rocio Rivadeneyra, Honors Program; Laurie Sexton, Special Education; Maura Toro-Morn, SOC; and Mark Walbert, Office of the Provost.
