Homecoming 2019 will be here soon (October 21-27), and Illinois State’s campus is starting to plan for the festivities.

Faculty and staff have several opportunities to get involved and share in this year’s theme, Come One. Come All, as we celebrate fun and entertainment along with honoring Gamma Phi Circus’ 90th anniversary.  There’s no need to wait; get involved and get in the Homecoming spirit with the programs below:

Campus decorating contest

Campus offices and departments can register for the campus decorating contest to promote Redbird pride and show off Homecoming spirit! Entrants will be judged on their use of the 2019 Homecoming theme, school spirit, Illinois State University’s name and/or images, and the impact of the decorations throughout the week. Judging will be Friday, October 18.

Homecoming royalty nominations

Homecoming also is a time for all to make nominations for Homecoming royalty. Faculty and staff can nominate children as prince and princess (deadline August 22) and student royalty (deadline September 26). All nomination forms and criteria are available on the Homecoming royalty webpage.

Homecoming parade

Departments or offices wishing to participate in the Homecoming parade Saturday, October 26, can submit registrations online until October 11. Involvement in the parade can be an excellent team-building activity for staff and faculty designing floats together and encourages community involvement. Here’s a short tutorial for those float-builders out there:

Homecoming graphics

Add a little Homecoming spirit to computers and social media with desktop backgrounds, Facebook cover photos, Twitter cover photos, and email signatures.
