Faculty/staff get involved in Homecoming 2018
Homecoming 2018 will be here soon (October 8-14 to be exact), and Illinois State’s campus is starting to plan for the festivities.
Faculty and staff have several opportunities to get involved and share in this year’s theme, “Redbirds Rising,” and celebrate the many accomplishments of Illinois State in conjunction with the University’s campaign. There’s no need to wait: Get involved and get in the Homecoming spirit with the programs below:
Campus decorating contest
Campus offices and departments can register for the campus decorating contest to promote Redbird pride and show off Homecoming spirit! Entrants will be judged on their use of the 2018 Homecoming theme, school spirit, Illinois State University’s name and/or images, and the impact of the decorations throughout the week. Judging will be Friday, October 5.
Departments or offices wishing to participate in the Homecoming parade Saturday, October 13, can submit registrations online until October 8. Involvement in the parade can be an excellent team-building activity for staff and faculty designing floats together and encourages community involvement.
Homecoming royalty nominations
Homecoming also builds a legacy of celebrating selected alumni, students, and children of alums. Faculty and staff can nominate individuals for alumni king and queen (deadline July 20), prince and princess (deadline August 10), and student royalty (deadline September 20). All nomination forms and criteria are available on the Homecoming royalty webpage.
Add a little Homecoming spirit to computers and social media with desktop backgrounds, Facebook cover photos, Twitter cover photos, and email signatures.
