Jillian Nelson has been named the senior director of annual giving at Illinois State University.

For the past four years, she served as the director of stewardship and donor relations at Illinois State. During her tenure, Nelson directed the successful Redbirds Rising campaign launch, created “Thank-A-Donor Days,” and redesigned Illinois State’s giving society structure, including such initiatives as President’s Chats, 1857 Society Tasty Tour, Heritage Society Lunch & Learn, Greet our Grads, Loyalty Circle breakfast reception, and President’s Circle digital impact report.

In her new role, Nelson will oversee all aspects of Illinois State’s annual giving efforts.

“Jillian’s donor-centered approach and fundraising experience will help propel our annual giving efforts to even higher levels,” said Vice President of University Advancement Pat Vickerman. “She is adept at deepening the connection ISU donors have with the University and thoughtfully illustrating the impact of their charitable investment. Jillian’s energy and creativity will serve us well over the last two years of Redbirds Rising: The Campaign for Illinois State.”

Nelson graduated with an MBA from James Madison University in Virginia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and public relations from Bradley University.
