Coalition Presses Congress to Fund Primary Federal School Leadership Program  We are proud to be among 74 local, state, and national organizations pressing Congress to restore funding for the School Leader Recruitment and Support Program (SLRSP)—the only federal program specifically focused on investing in evidence-based, locally-driven strategies to strengthen school leadership in high-need schools—at $14.5 million in the next federal funding bill. Such an investment would help seed innovative, evidence-based school leadership programs and partnerships that promise a return for students, schools, and communities that far exceeds this targeted investment. In addition, 100 percent of SLRSP grants would go to projects designed to prepare and support school leaders serving the children and communities most in need. We believe getting a well-prepared, well-supported principal in every school is a bipartisan cause. And we know SLRSP is a key lever for seeding the next generation of effective school leader development programs, promoting equity, and advancing innovation.
