For those admiring the amazing art by Assistant Professor of Anthropology Liv Stone that hangs in the second floor Schroeder Hall Gallery, now is the chance to own it.

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology is holding a sealed bid auction of Stone’s artwork to support student travel scholarships for sociology and anthropology majors.

The artwork can be viewed in the Schroeder Hall Gallery (second floor) and the sealed bidding period will be from August 20-31. There are eight pieces available for bid and the minimum bid is $50.

To submit a sealed bid, please include name, email, bid amount, and title/number of the specific art piece in a sealed envelope and turn it in to the main office of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology (SCH 332). Final sealed bids due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 31.

Bid winners will be notified no later than 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 4. All pieces must be picked up and paid for in the main office of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology no later than 4:30 p.m. on September 7. Winning bids must be paid for in cash or check, payable to Illinois State University.

Note: All winning bids are considered a “Foundation Non-Gift”, meaning they will not show up on your annual “gift record” and they are not tax deductible. All funds raised will support SOA student travel scholarships to help students attend conferences or other professional development meetings.
