Reflect on the first week of classes and catch up with colleagues! The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology’s Fall Kickoff features food, camaraderie, and a look ahead at the professional developments opportunities CTLT has planned for the coming year. The event is Friday, August 24, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 301 S. Main Street. No registration is necessary. Stop by when you can!

This year, we’ll also explore ideas for teaching and learning discovered as part of the Summer Reading Challenge. Participants were challenged to read three books related to teaching, but from a genre outside of their usual bookshelf. Upon reading each book, they discussed what they read, how it related to their teaching experiences, and any thought-provoking and lingering thoughts they may have had by the last page of their books.

Even if you didn’t participate or complete the challenge, join us for the roundup where we discover where everyone went on their “book dates” and look ahead to the fall semester.

If you need a special accommodation to fully participate in this event, please contact CTLT’s main desk at 309-438-2542.
