Illinois State faculty, staff, and students will find it easier to tap into their creative side this fall! The University has begun offering expanded access to the Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Document Cloud suite of applications. The new access places powerful visual and document editing tools at the fingertips of the campus community to make creating and collaborating simple and easy.

With Adobe Creative Cloud, users will have access to over 20 desktop and mobile apps to help bolster design, photography, video, and web creation, including these popular tools:

  • Photoshop
  • InDesign
  • Illustrator
  • Premiere Pro

Working with documents will also become much easier with access to Adobe Acrobat DC, which aids in forms, document tracking, and e-documents across a variety of platforms.

The expansion of access to Adobe products marks a major step forward for the University in its effort to better position the campus community for success in an era that places an ever-greater dependence upon technology.

“We have seen an increase in the number of requests for Adobe software tools for students in the classroom and for professional use by faculty and staff. Providing easy access to these tools allows them to improve their learning, teaching, and creative activities,” said Associate Vice President of Academic Technologies Mark Walbert.

Information technology staff have been working to make the enterprisewide Adobe license adoption a reality for several years now.

“We’re excited to be able to help offer our partners in the campus community an expanded box of powerful digital tools to help them succeed,” said Associate Vice President of Administrative Technologies Charley Edamala.

Faculty, staff, and employed graduate assistants may use Adobe software on both University and personally owned computers and mobile devices (maximum of two at a time).

  • For computers owned and/or managed by the University, consult with your local information technology support organization.
  • For personally owned computers, go to adobe.com and “Sign In” with your University email address and password and start by choosing the “desktop downloads” option and then download the Creative Cloud application to access all the titles.

Students may access Adobe software through University and departmental computer labs on campus. Furthermore, campus information technology staff are working to install common sets of applications in computer labs and classrooms for instructional and curricular use by faculty.
