Illinois State University remains among the top 100 public institutions in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report.

According to the latest rankings, Illinois State is 91st among public universities by continuing to demonstrate its level of excellence. Illinois State maintains high rankings in subcategories of the report, with 33 percent of classes with fewer than 20 students, even with a 10 percent increase in the freshman class. The University’s graduation rate continues to be far above the national average.

“Illinois State University remains strong and stable, and the numbers show that people are aware of the excellent education we continue to provide,” said Illinois State University President Larry Dietz. “These rankings are another reminder that Illinois State is a leader in public education.”

U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on factors such as undergraduate peer assessment scores that are from high school counselors as well as college and university presidents, provosts, and deans of admissions. Other factors include student retention, student-to-faculty ratio, financial resources, alumni giving, and graduation rate performance.
