Through the Career Center Partner Program, companies are able to provide support to assist the Career Center with developing, enhancing, and implementing innovative career development programs and services, while also connecting with Illinois State talent through various opportunities.

According to Enterprise Group Talent Manager Drew Butts, Enterprise has a passion for Redbird talent. “We have consistently found top notch talent from Illinois State across all majors and disciplines. In fact, we have several vice presidents across the country who are ISU alum.”

Enterprise internships

Each year, Illinois State is among the top represented schools in the company’s summer internship program. Illinois State junior and former Enterprise intern Nicole Betcher shared how her internship with Enterprise this summer impacted her as a new professional.

“Accepting an internship at Enterprise was very rewarding. It helped me to grow both professionally and personally. Enterprise treats interns as full-time employees. You can expect great friendships and great mentorships. I recommend them to anyone going into their junior or senior year because you truly learn a lot about teamwork, time management, the real world, and about how a company’s culture really can affect you. I thank Enterprise for all they have done for me and for their support before, during, and after my internship.”

Enterprise’s commitment to students

Career Center Director Pamela Cooper reported that Enterprise has been a Career Center Partner for over twenty years. “Their commitment to Redbirds is not only reflected by their decision to partner with us on the highest level, but also through their desire to hire students from all majors.”

transferable skills employers seek

Many organizations, like Enterprise, seek
students with a range of these transferable skills.

Cooper continued, “Enterprise recruits students from all majors who have a variety of transferable skills. So students who are unsure of what to do with their degree may be considered just as highly as students in business majors. That makes Enterprise’s internships and full-time positions attractive to all of our students; and a partnership that we highly value.”

As an industry leader, Enterprise has thrived from their business model of hiring exclusively entry-level candidates and promoting from within. According to Butts, “Interns go on to great careers after graduation and are promoted to management positions faster because of their experience. We have seen success as many ISU/Enterprise hires have gone on to outstanding careers based on their drive to be the best. Our company rewards employees based on the same principles as ISU, everything we do is rooted in learning.”

Students interested in applying with Enterprise can do so through Hire-A-Redbird, or by attending an upcoming career fair.
