Honors
Roger Zare
, MUS, was named the winner of the 2018 Indiana State University Contemporary Music Festival/Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra Composition Competition.  This past summer, he was involved in an interdisciplinary collaboration with CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, presenting his composition inspired by the Large Hadron Collider to audiences in Sofia, Bulgaria. He lectured about the connections between particle physics and the structure of his composition and worked with the Silhouettes Chamber Ensemble to present his new piano trio version of LHC at the Sofia Science Festival, Sofia Music Weeks, and at the Bulgarian National Academy of Music in May.

Harriett Steinbach, Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, was honored as one of the Pantagraph’s 20 under 40 at the Leaders of Distinction dinner.

Christopher Mulligan, CHE, was recently selected for the 2018 40 Under 40 Power List by Analytical Scientist magazine, which celebrates gifted young scientists “making waves” in analytical science.

Caleb Carr and Rebecca Hayes, COM, published “Predicting a Threshold of Perceived Facebook Post Success via Paralinguistic Digital Affordances: A Test of Explanatory Mechanisms” for Communication Research Reports. Hayes and Carr also co-authored “‘Why didn’t you Like that?’: Perceived Social Media Ostracism through Paralinguistic Digital Affordances Within Social Media” with Eric Wesselamnn, PSY, for Social Media + Society.
