Professor of Philosophy David Beisecker from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will speak on the topic of “Logic, Language, and the Pragmatic Maxim” at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 15, at Stevenson Hall, room 401A. The event is free and open to the public.

Beisecker’s speech will focus on the theory of Pragmatic Maxim founded by C.S. Peirce in the early 1900s. The colloquium is hosted by Illinois State’s Department of Philosophy.
