The new year is around the corner! It’s time to save the date for the spring 2019 career fairs. Students, alumni, faculty, and those recruiting candidates for open positions are encouraged to save these dates.

The 2019 spring career fairs include:

  • Spring Internship Fair, Tuesday, February 19, 4–7 p.m., connects employers seeking Redbirds as candidates to fill their internship positions.
  • Spring Career Fair, Tuesday, February 26, 4–7 p.m., connects employers with Illinois State students and alumni from all majors seeking full-time positions.
  • Education Career Fair, Tuesday, March 5, 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., connects school administrators, superintendents, and other employers from the field of education seeking to hire candidates in education and related fields for open positions.

Students

there are many ways students achieve career success through career fairs

Redbirds find a variety of ways to achieve career success when attending career fairs.

Career fairs are an excellent opportunity to meet employers seeking to hire Redbirds for their open positions. They are also great opportunities to connect with professionals for networking and mentoring.

“Many students and alumni have found employment, built their career development skills, and made meaningful and lasting professional connections through career fairs,” Career Center Director Pamela Cooper said.

Students from all majors and class levels are invited to attend.

“A common myth some students believe is that career fairs are just for business students and seniors. But that is simply not true,” states Andrea Radliff, Career Center assistant director for Employer Relations. “Fairs are an excellent tool for all students to help them explore their career interests, meet professionals in their field, begin making connections with potential employers, and help manage any fears they may have about the job search process.”

Alumni

Illinois State University’s Career Center encourages alumni to attend its career fairs. In fact, not only are alumni welcome to attend career fairs for potential career opportunities or to network, but they can also give back to Illinois State by hiring a Redbird.

Faculty

Illinois State faculty and staff are also invited to attend career fairs. The employers attending are interested in learning about the curriculum and programs at Illinois State. They are also a helpful resource to faculty and staff as they can provide expertise of their own about what’s new in their industries and what skills they are seeking in candidates.

Employers

With over 20,000 students enrolled and over 5,300 degrees conferred each year, Illinois State is an excellent institution for employers to meet exciting new talent. We encourage you to learn more about Illinois State’s Academic Programs. In addition, with Illinois State located between Chicago and St.Louis, the University is easy to reach.
