Due to a forecast for continued cold temperatures and extremely low wind chills, Illinois State University will remain closed on Thursday, January, 31. University offices will be closed and classes and activities will be cancelled. The University will reopen for regular operations at 7 a.m. Friday, February 1.

Essential personnel should continue to report to work during the closure period.

University residence halls and residence hall dining centers will remain open to serve students.

Please continue to use caution when outdoors during the cold conditions. Weather forecasts call for extreme cold conditions with record- or near-record wind chills. Please use extreme caution during this period by limiting time outdoors and covering all exposed skin when facing the elements. During extreme cold conditions, frostbite can set in on exposed skin in a very short time.

To report weather-related facility issues, such as pipe breaks, call Facilities Management at (309) 438-5656 or University Police at (309) 438-8631.
