Illinois State continues military-friendly tradition

Illinois State University continues to receive national recognition for its service to student veterans.

Illinois State has once again been named a Military Friendly School by VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business that connects the military community to civilian employment, and educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through its G.I. Jobs, Military Spouse, and Military Friendly brands. The 2019 Military Friendly Schools list recognizes Illinois State as a Silver Award university for its support of veterans’ education.

Criteria for inclusion in the Military Friendly Schools list includes a strong commitment to recruiting, retaining, and providing financial, academic, and social services to student veterans.

Illinois State provides student veterans with a variety of academic, advisement, and financial support services. The Veterans and Military Services office serves as the first point of contact for student veterans. The office assists with Veterans Administration (VA) education benefits, helps student veterans transition into life on campus, and provides referrals to other veteran services within the community.
