The Civil Service Council will have its annual Spring Drive from March 1-29. Special food and household items will be collected to support the School Street Food Pantry.

Highly requested items include:

  • Canned tuna or chicken
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Boxed dinners
  • Kitchen staples such as vegetable oil, flour, sugar, and spices
  • Condiments such as salad dressings

Other needed requests include:

  • Gluten-free products
  • Hygiene products (soaps, detergents, etc.)
  • Feminine products
  • Rice and grains
  • Vegan/vegetarian proteins
  • Shelf stable milks (dairy, soy, almond, coconut)

The pantry, which opened last fall, serves area college students. Located at the First United Methodist Church, the pantry is a collaborative effort of Illinois State students and community members.
