Aly & AJ are scheduled to perform at the annual Springfest concert on May 1 at 8 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom. This concert, originally scheduled to occur on the Quad, is being moved to a rainsite. VoilĂ  and Matt Hall will open the concert.

Sponsored by University Program Board (UPB), this concert is free and open to the public.

Aly & AJ, also known as Alyson Michalka and Amanda Michalka, are two sisters and an American pop duo that started in 2004 with the Disney-owned record label, Hollywood Records. Their debut album, “Into the Rush,” ranked number 36 on Billboard 200. In 2009, the sisters renamed their duo 78violet, but switched back to Aly & AJ in 2015. Their music has been featured in numerous movies such as Now You See It, Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.

Matt Hall, an up-and-coming artist, who released the hit song, “Anxious,” broke two million views on Apple Music.

Springfest is an annual concert on the Quad that takes place at the end of the spring semester. The purpose of Springfest is to bring free entertainment to students, so they do not have to worry about leaving town or purchasing tickets. “Concerts are usually in highest demand when it comes to events on campus,” said Brandon Moran, president of UPB.
