Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra to present Stravinsky’s The Firebird, April 28

The final Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra concert of 2018-2019 will feature Stravinsky's The Firebird and Concerto Competition winners Mason Riedel and Anna Chen.

The Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra will present Stravinsky’s The Firebird Sunday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in the Illinois State University Center for the Performing Arts, Concert Hall.

Sunday’s concert will also feature Berlioz’s “Hungarian March” from The Damnation of Faust and two pieces performed by this year’s Orchestra Concerto-Aria Competition winners, Anna Chen and Mason Riedel. Chen, piano, will perform Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Riedel, bass trombone, will perform Schnyder’s Sub-Zero.

Tickets are $10 general admissions, $8 for faculty and staff, and $6 for students and seniors. Performance parking is available for free in the School Street Parking Deck in spots 250 and above, 400 West Beaufort Street, Normal.
