The following resources might be helpful to school districts and the community partners who work with them.

Seed Grants for Grandparents and other Relatives Raising Children are now available from the Brookdale Foundation Group  The Brookdale Foundation Group has issued a Request for Proposals for creating or expanding supportive services to grandparents and other relatives raising children.  Up to 15 programs will be selected to receive a seed grant of $15,000 based on progress made during the first year and potential for more in the future. Technical assistance will also be provided.  Any 501 (c)(3) or equivalent not-for-profit organizations can apply. The RFP proposal and guidelines can be downloaded. Proposals are due at the Brookdale Foundation Group office in New Jersey on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

Building Systems that Work for Families: Training for Community Systems Leaders  Join the Ounce of Prevention Fund Illinois Policy Team — in partnership with Illinois Action for Children’s Community System Statewide Supports (CS3) team, Illinois State Board of Education, and the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood — for a full-day training for early childhood community systems leaders. This four part training is grounded in a framework for systems integration and alignment that focuses on reaching children and families with more complex needs. The training will feature a session on best practices in systems integration and alignment followed by two topical sessions on early childhood mental health and immigration. The final session will feature an activity that provides attendees with an opportunity to apply knowledge learned in the two topical sessions to the systems integration and alignment framework and develop a plan for action. The training is free of charge and lunch will be provided. Two in-person training options are available.
