Community Systems Statewide Supports (CS3) Updates  The Partner Plan Act Collaboration Institute is gearing up to launch its application for the second cohort. The application will be open from April 1-May 30 for supports starting July 1.

2020 Young Scholars Program Call for Proposals  The Foundation for Child Development is currently accepting proposals for its 2020 Young Scholars Program (YSP). YSP supports scholarship for early career researchers. The program funds implementation research that is policy and practice-relevant and that examines the preparation, competency, compensation, well-being, and on-going professional learning of the early care and education (ECE) workforce. Research awards are up to $225,000 for primary research and up to $180,000 for secondary data analysis. The deadline to submit a Letter of Intent is at 3 p.m. (EST) Monday, June 10, 2019.

2019 Partner Plan Act Conference: Equity from the Start Registration for the 2019 Partner Plan Act Conference is now open! The conference will take place in Bloomington, Illinois from 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m. June 11. This annual conference brings early childhood system stakeholders to learn, network, and deepen their community systems knowledge and skills.

Seed Grants for Grandparents and other Relatives Raising Children are now available from the Brookdale Foundation Group  The Brookdale Foundation Group has issued a Request for Proposals for creating or expanding supportive services to grandparents and other relatives raising children. Up to 15 programs will be selected to receive a seed grant of $15,000 based on progress made during the first year and potential for more in the future. Technical assistance will also be provided. Any 501 (c)(3) or equivalent not-for-profit organizations can apply. The RFP proposal and guidelines can be downloaded. Proposals are due at the Brookdale Foundation Group office in New Jersey on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.

2019 College Changes Everything® Conference: Expanding Success for All Students – Every Community’s Responsibility, July 18, 2019 • 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Tinley Park Convention Center, Tinley Park, Illinois. Register now to attend the ninth annual College Changes Everything® (CCE) conference – the state’s premier college access and success event. This one day conference focuses on effective practices and showcases resources available to help with increasing access to postsecondary education, college completion, and career readiness. The conference also supports the state’s Goal 2025—to increase the proportion of adults in Illinois with high-quality college degrees and postsecondary credentials to 60 percent by the year 2025. Sharing A Vision (SAV) 2019 registration is now open! SAV will be held at the Embassy Suites and Conference Center in East Peoria, October 2-4, and will host approximately 63 sessions in alignment with DEC Recommended Practices. View the registration brochure for more information. The Midwest Principals’ Center is proud to announce its upcoming 2019-2020 all-day programs.  Registration opened on May 15.  Now is a good time to plan for your professional development for next year. Midwest Principals’ Center’s focus for the 2019-2020 school year is “coaching,” as well as topics such as literacy, school culture, and student engagement. These speakers/topics were selected based on the recommendations and interest of over 100 school leaders who are part of MPC.
