Illinois State University’s College of Fine Arts and School of Music, in conjunction with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, will present Concerts on the Quad weekly at 7 p.m. from Monday, July 1-July 29 on the east side of Cook Hall. All concerts are free and open to the public. Concertgoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Monday, July 1 – Appalatin
The series starts off with a bang with an organic fusion of Appalachian folk and high-energy Latin music.

Monday, July 8 – Jodi Beach Trio
Embark on a sentimental journey of melodies and lyrics with noted chanteuse Jodi Beach.

Monday, July 15 – Good Morning Bedlam
Come watch the series debut of a group that has become an innovative force on the Midwest folk scene. The band’s name says it all.

Monday, July 22 – Evening of contemporary jazz – Tom Marko and the Inner Light
An evening of contemporary jazz led by one of Illinois State’s very own.

Monday, July 29 – Singing Under the Stars
Illinois State University faculty and guests sing favorites from the operatic and Broadway stages.

This event is sponsored by the Mirza Fund for Arts and Culture of the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation, Debbie and Terry Lindberg, the Fell Trust, and the Town of Normal Harmon Arts Grant Program

In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be moved to the Concert Hall in Illinois State University’s Center for Performing Arts, located on the southeast corner of the Quad, next to Williams Hall. Listen to radio stations WGLT (89.1 FM), WBNQ (101.5 FM), or WJBC (1230 AM) after 5 p.m. on concert days for announcements or site changes.
