The Department of Technology is pleased to announce a new name for our Renewable Energy Program. The new name, “Sustainable and Renewable Energy” is more representative of the interdisciplinary program, its curriculum, and the goals of the program. The curriculum has been shaped by our industry partners in the sustainable and renewable energy fields. The Sustainable and Renewable Energy major prepares our graduates for careers in the diverse areas of energy sustainability, energy efficiency, wind, solar, biofuels, biomass energy development, and regulatory and government policy analysis. Our students learn how to design solar power systems, analyze wind energy data, understand energy economics and public policy, as well as energy efficiency and management.

For more information about the Sustainable and Renewable Energy major please contact Associate Professor Jin Jo at jjo@ilstu.edu or Assistant Professor Matthew Aldeman at maldema@ilstu.edu.
