Alana McGinty

Homecoming Alumni speaker, Alana McGinty ’10, is a grants and contracts associate at DAI Global. With bachelor’s degrees in politics and government and sociology from Illinois State, McGinty believes in the power of the global community to affect development outcomes. She’s focused on advancing gender equality and using digital tools for development. McGinty has managed an $18.2 million agriculture project in Southern Africa and currently helps to manage a growing portfolio of projects in a $64 million grants and subcontracts fund using digital tools to tackle development challenges. 

McGinty served as a Peace Corps volunteer in South Africa from 2011-2013 and serves on the American University International Development Program Alumni Board. At Illinois State she was involved in LeaderShape, Alternative Breaks, Student Government Association and served as president of Phi Sigma Sigma. Along withe her degrees from Illinois State, she holds a master’s degree in international development from American University.
