CANCELLED: In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the Student and Alumni Diversity Meet-up has been cancelled.

Networking is vital to one’s career success. However, it can be intimidating and uncomfortable. To assist, the Career Center’s Cultural Career Network Program is hosting its annual Success Looks Like Me: Student and Alumni Diversity Meet-up on Thursday, March 26.

The Success Looks Like Me: Student and Alumni Diversity Meet-up allows students and alumni to connect in a very relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Alumni will share how they navigated college as an underrepresented student, got started in their careers, conducted their job search, and transitioned into the workplace.

“This event is an excellent opportunity for students to meet with alumni,” said Career Center Director Pamela Cooper. “Not only will they get to hear about the career and professional experiences of Redbird alumni, they’ll also get career advice firsthand from those who have gone before them and can connect with them to build a network of professionals for their own career success.”

Students must register to attend. Alumni interested in giving back to Illinois State by participating in the Student and Alumni Diversity Meet-up can contact the Career Center to volunteer.

The Career Center supports Illinois State University’s Educate Connect Elevate: Illinois State—The Strategic Plan for Illinois’ First Public University 2018-2023 by assisting all students with developing, evaluating and implementing career decisions.
