POSTPONED: Nominations sought for Civic Engagement Awards
The 2020 Civic Engagement Awards and award nominations have been postponed due to COVID-19.
Nominations are currently being accepted for Illinois State University’s Civic Engagement Awards.
Each year, the American Democracy Project (ADP) and the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning (CESL) honor individuals across campus and in the community for their efforts in civic engagement. The awards are presented at the Civic Engagement Celebration each April.
“These awards are one way we celebrate Illinois State University’s core value of civic engagement,” said Jacqueline Lanier, faculty co-leader of ADP. “It’s important that we recognize the great work taking place in our campus community. When we publicly acknowledge this work, we also increase awareness of the ways that other individuals could also become involved.”
Nominations are open through March 20, 2020, for awards in the following categories:
- RSO Award
- Unit Award
- Faculty Civic Engagement Award
- Student Civic Engagement Award
- Staff Civic Engagement Award
- Community Partner Award
Additional information, including eligibility requirements and the nomination form, can be found on the ADP website.
