Illinois State University has announced its enrollment deposit deadline has been moved to June 1 to accommodate families during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

The Illinois State University Office of Admissions has announced that the deadline for admitted freshmen to submit their enrollment deposit for the fall 2020 semester has been moved to June 1.

Submission of an enrollment deposit is required to secure a spot in the freshman class.

This decision comes as communities across the state, country, and globe navigate the unprecedented challenges presented by the coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result, the University wants to ensure that prospective students and families are able to focus, first and foremost, on the things that matter most.

“We realize current circumstances are causing additional stress for students,” Director of Admissions Jeff Mavros said, “from managing an unfamiliar academic environment to experiencing greater financial uncertainty to having reduced access to colleges and universities as they try to make this important decision.

“I hope this extension to our deadline helps reduce stress and anxiety for students during this challenging time.”

As attention turns toward making sure students and families are safe, the Office of Admissions remains available to answer questions and provide support to prospective students via virtual appointments and email at Admissions@IllinoisState.edu.
