In conjunction with other libraries in the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI), Milner Library’s library catalog and other Search Milner Library search tools will be updated this summer.

The interface used to conduct online searches of Milner’s library catalog, “Articles” and “Combined Search” available to the Illinois State University community will be changing on June 24. The search box on the library’s homepage will remain the same, and search functionalities will largely remain the same and/or be improved.

Users will also enjoy a more streamlined search experience that works with their ISU credentials. Instead of creating additional username and password information as previously needed, patrons will now be routed through Central Login for access. Please note that any faculty, staff, or student who had previously created a username and password will no longer be needed; however, their access will be unaffected.

As part of the update, the “Milner Catalog” on the library’s website will not reflect current availability for a period of time approximately May 22 through June 24. If Milner Library resumes physical item lending, patrons will be able to contact library staff to confirm the status of items. Access to electronic resources such as databases, Kanopy, digital collections, and more will not be impacted during this change. Please visit Milner Library’s website for the most up-to-date information on resources, services, and building status during the University’s ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response.

Anyone with any questions or who needs assistance can contact their subject librarian or access the Virtual Reference Desk from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. This post will be updated as more information becomes available, including informational Zoom sessions and tutorials.
