Erik Rankin ’00, M.S. ’03, the director of Enrollment Management and undergraduate Studies and an instructional assistant professor in the Department of Politics and Government, authored an essay titled “Practice Political Civility” in the October 2020 edition of The Stoic.

The essay focuses on how stoic philosophy encourages us to recall our shared humanity. Civility is more than politeness and asks of us to come to conflict with an open mind. The Stoic is the journal of The Stoic Gym and is published monthly on topics relating to the practice of stoic philosophy.
