At the Table is a series of virtual dinners and facilitated conversations that aim to build community and embrace vulnerability during these difficult times. The series is co-facilitated by MFA students Aca Carle, Japheth Asiedu-Kwarteng, Peytin Fitzgerald, Priscilla Lo, and Assistant Professor of Nonwestern/Global Art History Kantara Souffrant. These virtual dinners and discussions gather individuals across ISU and the Bloomington-Normal community to dine and discuss the evening’s chosen topic.

A recipe, curated and adapted by Priscilla Lo, accompanies each event. Participants will receive recipes and non-perishable ingredients to create the meals before the discussion begins. Every participant will also receive a handmade bowl made by Japheth Asiedu-Kwarteng with support from Priscilla Lo. Each meal and conversation topic are different, but the goal is to host a communal space that welcomes conversations across differences.

Suggested time to begin cooking is 5:15 p.m. so that participants can have a finished meal by the time the event begins.

At the Table is sponsored by the Wonsook Kim School of Art, University Galleries, Green Top Grocery, and Bloomington Hy-Vee.
