Steven Mertens, and Kristina Falbe, COE, presented “Illinois Horizon Schools: Ongoing research from the Illinois’ Schools to Watch Program” at the annual conference of the Association for Middle Level Education. 

Intan Suwandi, SOC, presented “The Flexible Seamstress: Global South Suppliers and the New Economic Imperialism” at the University of London’s SOAS Economics Webinar Series 2020-2021: Intensifying Inequalities and the Limitations of Global Capitalism. 

Joan Schuitema, Milner, served as guest editor of a special issue of Cataloging and Classification Quarterly, one of the premier peer-reviewed journals in technical services librarianship.  

Archana Shekara, ART, presented “Get Out the Vote” with students Rhiannon Kelly and Logan Wolpert as part of a national event, Voter Engagement in the Design Classroom: A Nationwide Celebration of Student Work from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Washington University in St Louis, and College of Arts and Sciences, Cleveland State University. 

Publications 

Adam Jagodinsky, KNR, published “Lower-Extremity Motor Synergies in Individuals With and Without Chronic Ankle Instability” in the Journal of Applied Biomechanics. 

Mehdi Sookhak, IT, published “Proposing a Secure Self‐fining Vehicle Using Blockchain and Vehicular Edge Computing” in the IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine. 

Christopher Mulligan, CHE, co-authored two review articles regarding mass spectrometry for use in the fields of forensic and homeland security, one of which was selected for the cover of the journal Analytical Methods. Mulligan and Trevor McDaniel published “The Current Role of Mass Spectrometry in Forensics and Future Prospects” in Analytical Methods. Mulligan also published “Fieldable Mass Spectrometry for Forensic Science, Homeland Security and Defense Applications” with students Ashley Stelmack, P.C. Clowser, and Jessica Holtz in Mass Spectrometry Reviews

An article co-authored by Joon Ho Kim, MKT, “Competitive Effects of Front-of-Package Nutrition Labeling Adoption on Nutritional Quality: Evidence from Facts Up Front Style Labels” was highlighted in the Scholarly Insights series for the American Marketing Association.  

Danielle Lillge, ENG, co-authored “Sticking points: Sites for developing capacity to enact socially just instruction” for Teaching and Teacher Education
