While the current plan is to expand access to Milner Library at some point during the spring semester, building access remains limited until further notice. Even though building access is currently limited to appointment only, Milner faculty and staff are here to help with curbside pickup, on campus delivery to campus mailboxes, Virtual Reference Desk seven days a week, expanded electronic resources, and more.

Spring Reference Hours

Currently, research assistance is available seven days a week through the library’s Virtual Reference Desk. Reference help is available to anyone regardless of University affiliation. Spring semester hours are:

  • Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday Noon to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday Noon to 8 p.m.

Milner librarians are available every day by:

Requesting an Appointment

Current ISU faculty, staff, and students can request an appointment to access the physical building through their subject librarian, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are meant for access to collections or other resources that are only available in the building. Appointments will not be made for use of the library as an alternative work or study space; access to WiFi; access to Course Reserves, printing, or scanning; or for other services that can be conducted virtually. Requests can be made for up to two hours of time and are limited to once a day. It is preferred that resquests be made at least 24 hours ahead of time. For more information, please go to our COVID response page or contact your subject librarian.
