Although Homecoming 2020: Redbirds in Flight could not be held this past fall in person, the University is moving forward with rescheduled virtual activities. Homecoming: Redbirds in Flight will now take place April 5-11 with virtual or socially distanced events. ISU students can mark their calendars for several events including:

On the Move Homecoming Kickoff, 2:30-5:30 p.m., April 5

Find University Program Board (UPB) spirit golf carts on the Quad through Homecoming Monday to receive special Homecoming items, a Jimmy Johns sandwich, and how to show your Redbird spirit during the virtual Homecoming week.

Students must show their Redbird Life event pass on their mobile device to receive the kickoff items.

Window Painting, 1-5 p.m., April 5

Organized by Student Alumni Council, the Homecoming Window Painting is a great way to help get Homecoming week started by painting the windows of a local business around campus. All registered student organizations are welcome to participate. Those interested in helping can contact Danielle Brady, graduate assistant for Alumni Engagement.

Homecoming Swag Table 10 a.m.-1 p.m., April 6

Stop by our hospitality table on Schroeder Plaza for a Homecoming t-shirt and swag. Here until they’re gone!

Virtual Mocktails, 5 p.m., April 6

The Student Alumni Council and Association for Women in Communications invite you to a special event that will feature a panel of Illinois State alumni discussing the importance of networking and continuing professional development. Following our panel, there will be guided breakout room discussions with alumni working in the field. The event is free, but registration is required.

Grab and Go Homecoming Carnival, 6-8 p.m., April 7

Stop by the Bone Student Center to grab favorite carnival snacks as well as an exclusive Homecoming Stuff Your Own Stuffed Animal. That evening at 8 p.m., join University Program Board and fellow Redbirds online for a fun night of bingo and trivia with a chance to win awesome prizes.

Students must show their Redbird Life event passes at the grab-and-go portion.

Redbirds Care Blood Drive, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., April 9

Visit Old Main in the Bone Student Center to save a life. The first 30 to donate will receive a Homecoming spirit bag. Register for your spot. Students will also receive a $10 gift card for a place to eat or shop after donating.

More details on the activities will be announced as they are planned and posted at Homecoming.IllinoisState.edu.

Bring It Back to Normal

This year, the Center for Civic Engagement will be working with Normal Parks and Recreation to get our parks and parts of the Constitution Trail ready for the spring and summer months. Early registration recommended as spots are limited.

More details on the activities will be announced as they are planned and posted at Homecoming.IllinoisState.edu.

Homecoming 2021: 100 Years will take place this fall, October 11-17, 2021.
