The Illinois State Fashion Show registered student organization (RSO) in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is hosting a virtual civic engagement and fundraising event that helps raise awareness of diversity and inclusivity in fashion.

“All as One” Virtual Fashion Show

Students will produce a physical fashion show at Braden Auditorium at the end of this week and will release the first-ever pandemic version of the “2021 Illinois State Virtual Fashion Show” on May 7, which is also their commencement morning.

The theme this year is called “All as One,” which is a monochromatic vision featuring a diverse student body that represents the idea of togetherness and unity. FDM students know how important diversity and representation are; therefore, they made it one of their fashion show themes.

Students want to emphasize inclusivity because, “they are all different, and that is beautiful.”

This year, the RSO will donate a portion of fundraising to non-profit organizations that empower women and people in need.
